Biological Embedding of Caregiving Adversity


  SUBMIT YOUR POSTER ABSTRACT

The Penn State Child Maltreatment Solutions Network Fall 2024 Conference (November 15, 2024) has announced a call for posters related to the Biological Embedding of Caregiving Adversity. Although child maltreatment will be a central focus of the conference, any work related to biological processes and caregiving adversity will be considered. The poster session is scheduled to take place at the end of the conference day in parallel with the Networking Reception and will include an award for best student poster.

We encourage participation from:

  • Undergraduate and graduate students
  • Postdoctoral fellows and trainees
  • Faculty
  • Conference attendees

The deadline for poster submission is August 2nd at 5:00 p.m., and space is limited. Posters presented at other events are welcome.

The Poster Session will be from 4:15-5:30pm and will include an award for best student poster. Poster presenters will be provided conference registration, including lunch. Poster printing costs may be reimbursed upon request. The deadline for application to participate in the Poster Session is Friday, August 2. Applicants will be notified the week of September 2nd. POSTER SESSION DETAILS

Who’s eligible to submit a poster?

All attendees, especially trainees and early career researchers (undergraduate students, graduate students, postdoctoral trainees, and assistant professors)

When is the poster submission deadline?

The deadline to submit your poster abstract is Friday, August 2, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. EST.

How long does the abstract need to be?

Up to 300 words. Up to 2 images (tables or figures) are allowed.

Should the poster follow a theme?

We ask that your poster is related in some way to this year’s conference theme, broadly defined.

Could I present a poster that I have already presented at another conference?

Yes. The goal is to share and discuss your recent findings with other investigators in the field.

Could I present a poster from a registered report?

Yes. The goal is to share and discuss your research with other investigators in the field.

How are poster abstracts submitted?

Please submit poster via this “Submit Your Poster Abstract” link or via the button at the top of this page. You will be notified the week of September 2, 2024 if your poster has been accepted.

How should I register for the conference?

When registering for the conference, register as a poster presenter to indicate that you will or have already submitted a poster. Accepted poster presenters will be provided with free conference registration, including lunch. Poster printing costs may be reimbursed upon request and approval.

What size should my poster be?

The maximum poster size accepted is 3 feet high x 4 feet wide.

Where / when should I set up my poster?

You can set your poster up at the beginning of the conference, Friday, November 15, 2024, between 8:30–9:00 a.m. or during lunch from 12:00-12:45 p.m. Posters will be displayed for the duration of the conference. Please plan to present your poster in person during the Poster Session and Reception held from 4:15 – 5:30 p.m. Posters should be taken down on Friday, November 15 at 5:30 p.m.
