The Role of Nursing in Child Protection

Sheridan Miyamoto, Ph.D., RN, Assistant professor of nursing at Penn State will be presenting "The Role of Nursing in Child Protection" during the College of Nursing Alumni and Friends Weekend, April 1-3, 2016.  If you are an interested, alum of the College of Nursing contact Kim Woodward for more information. The talk will focus on the problem of child maltreatment in our society, the impact of twenty-three new Pennsylania laws related to this issue, and how nurses should respond when they suspect maltreatment.  Novel approaches with clear nursing roles will be discussed.
