Sheridan Miyamoto receives grant to expand telehealth center supporting sexual assault survivors

Dr. Sheridan Miyamoto, Assistant Professor of Nursing, received a grant from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency to not only support ongoing work by Penn State’s Sexual Assault Forensic Examination Telehealth (SAFE-T) Center, founded and led by Dr. Miyamoto, but to further allow the program to be expanded to four additional sites across the Commonwealth. This will help provide expertise, training, peer review and live telehealth consultations to hospitals currently experiencing a deficit in sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) availability.
